When Che was given to us he showed from the start that he loved us. He would jump on us, he would lick our faces when asleep, and when he wanted to potty he would pull our socks off at one in the morning to take him outside. Last night (on my brother and my birthday) while taking out the trash, Che slid through my legs on the way out the door to go potty and accompany me. I let him sniff around for a while marking his territory but after a while he decided to go for a walk. After chasing him for 5 minutes I went inside for some treats to see if I can lure him in and link him to the leash. While I walked back outside Che was on the other side of the street and I could see a car approaching so I quickly ran towards him and from dog training told him to sit and stay after the first car passed I walked toward Che and of course he ran from me and again I chased him for five more minutes. After a while I just sat down on a rock and called him over my way. As I was calling him over I saw a lights approaching and I instantly told him to sit and stay but this time he didn’t he wanted his treat. It all happen so quickly i wanted to try and stop the car but it was too late. I can only recall the front of the car and Ches last step before getting hit and being dragged under the car and come out the rear 10-15ft from where he was. At first I couldn’t believe it until I heard him wail. I instantly ran towards him cloaked him with my body to protect him from the cold and warm him up and make him feel comforted. I didn’t know what to do my sister quickly came out of the house and we rushed to the animal urgent care hospital. As I walked in with Che my hand was bloody my pants were stained and after a few hours we found out the long list of injuries and treatments he would need. We were only able to give so much but after running out of resources we needed to transfer him to a different hospital so the surgery could proceed. Going back home my mother told me my little brother was crying because of what he had seen. Mr. Pig always sneaked out of my room to sleep in his bed and those two are similar in some ways ;).
I’ve been able to see Che a couple of times and like always he wins my heart of a true loyal dog. His sad looking face tells me the pain he’s in but his wagging tale gives me hope he will be 100% capable of running from me again (which will not happen again). Shar-peis are known to be fighter and that’s what Che showed. Help me help him get better. Ches date of pick up is Friday, December 21 and i will need to make the payment then. Sorry for the the short notice and time available.

I need to raise anywhere between $1300-$1500 depending on how the surgery goes and what is needed afterwards. Compared to another clinic our bill was $5000-$7000. We took care most of the bills but we are short.

The funds will be used to pay for medical expenses like the ones followed:
Orthopedic surgery (FHO-Femoral Head Osteotomy)
Right knee surgery (possible depending of X-ray’s)
X-rays
Large laceration surgery on his right rear leg
General Anestisia
Needed by clinic:
Neuter (Required by the hospital)
Micro-Chip (To find Che in case he gets lost)
Overnight stay for making sure he is taken care of
